Growing Goodness: Why Regenerative Agriculture Matters
At The Agrarian Institute, our local farm in San Diego, we believe growing food is more than just a job, it’s a calling. Through regenerative agriculture, we heal the land, build soil, and grow nutrient rich local food that nourishes our community. But it’s not just about veggies, it’s about education too. As an educational nonprofit farm, we teach kids and families how to care for creation and live sustainably.
What is regenerative agriculture?
Regenerative agriculture is a way of farming that restores soil health, increases biodiversity, and draws carbon back into the earth. It goes beyond organic by focusing on rebuilding ecosystems, not just avoiding chemicals.
From a Christian perspective, we are called to be stewards of God's creation. In Genesis, God placed humanity in the garden to “work it and keep it.” That’s what we do here on our San Diego farm, The Agrarian Institute, honoring the earth, feeding the hungry, and teaching others to do the same.
